| what i did was run the positive side to the hazards light switch, then the negative to the screw that is directly under that switch. (you will see the screw after popping out the hazards light switch) the way i did it was to take out the switch, then it is in two parts, the side with the wires attached, and then the switch itself that snaps into the first piece. take these two parts apart, takes a little force a flat head screwdriver helps, then open the back of the piece attached to the wires. this just has 4 or 6 little clamps i forget exactly how many. once it is opened you can turn on the headlights of the car and find out which wires go on with the headlights, which are always running etc. easiest way to do this is to touch the positive wire to each wire in the switch piece (have the negative already attached of course) until the shift knob illuminates. since i wanted my shift knob to turn on when the dash lights turned on i took the wire and just simply stuck it in the hole that works when the lights are turned on. after this i held the wire in place as i re-attached the switch itself, and that held the wire in place. then just put it all back together and you have a working illuminated shift knob.
