The engine is definitely different. Says "M Power" on it. 3.2 V6...328i is a 2.8.
The rear tires are wider than the front and camber out a bit more. Stripes on the seats, colored stitching on the steering wheel. |
Hey there,
most of the above is correct except that the 3.2 is not a V it is an inline 6. i had a 325i before i bought my M3 and the diferences are quite pronounced. the suspension is much tigheter as it is a sport suspension. The ride is smoother and the exceleration is noticibly different. My M3 throws you back into the seat when you get on er. The tires as started above are different with a 225/45/17 in the front and 245/40/17 in the rear. The seats are different in comfort as well. Remember the M is the top of the line for the series. the sound systems are different with the M using the HK system in it. the compression ratio is 10.5 and the stroke is 3.53 in with a bore of 3.40 in. the M also includes the ASC which is not in the normal 3 series. the body is slightly different in kit. the front, rear and side moldings are different with the 325 using the same or similar side skirts. overall the M3 is superior to the 325 in lots of ways. you almost feel as though you are piloting the M3 not driving a 3 series. i traded my 3 series for my M and wouldn't go back. hope this helps. oh yeah i got my M3 with 57K on it for 18K from BMW.
