MadBMW is an unknown quantity at this point
I would say something nice to dutch and have him run a carfax for you. Otherwise I would do a lot of research on it to see if there was an known issues with it. Have the compression checked and have do a pressure test on cooling system for the known issue with the water pump. There is pretty good post somewhere on the site about known issues with the M3.
