| After reading other bulletin boards, a lot of problems have been solved with software upgrades.
MY '05 should be a lot better. MY '06 should be the year to buy if you're thinking about it.
The future problem I see is that after the BMW warranty runs out, the extended warranties aren't covering the electronics. I'll be trading/selling mine before 12/2007. Also, how is the next generation BMW owner going to mod his/her car? No way! even the 3 will have too much electronics to mess with.
