Hey has anyone or does anyone have any information on how to install a power steering pump for a 1986 bmw 325E? I need to replace mine and I dont feel like taking it to the shop cuz it was just in for an expensive repair and I just wana fix it myself. If anyone has any information on that I would appreciate it.
it's a pretty simple job to Re & Re the PS pump.. you might find the hose fittings rust welded on there but after that it's only two bolts (one being the adjusting lever)
Alright, well I think thats something I could do myself then. Im assuming its the pump cuz when you turn the wheel it makes a loud mechanical noise, but then could that also be the power steering not having enough fluid too? Let me know what you think.

oh geez... check your fluid level.. usually the pump doesn't break unless you've run it dry. check that the belt is tight and the see if the pully on the pump wobbles or is lose at all.
then report back
