PMB is an unknown quantity at this point
The 0-60 times are meaningless because the only other 3 series stock BMW that will come close to an M3, any M3, is another M3. You can have your 330 with sport suspension and your 225bhp engine, but handling wise there is as big a difference again as going from standard to sports suspension.

In addition 0-60 gets you "off the blocks". The M3 is quicker accelerating in the gears. That said I have never heard of an M3 E36 with only 240 bhp.

By the way, the E46 M3 CSL will paste the lot. It has 350 bhp and is over 400 pounds lighter than a standard M3.
