| Pretty sure he means the rocker panels, you can't really dent a plastic side skirt, they usually just crack.
If your rocker panels are dented, just get either 328 or M3 side skirts, you will have to drill holes into the side of the rocker panels. I did it myself. Buy the required pegs and mounting hardware then it just clips into the side of the rocker panel, it will cover up any rust, dents or whatever. Just make sure after you drill the holes, you seal them off properly so it doesn't rust.
M3 skirts don't look too different, but they are supposed to improve aerodynamics according to BMW. They are supposed to direct airflow to the rear M3 diffuser which in turn gives you rear downforce pushing the rear axles of the car down.
