Please can anyone help? Have just come across this forum after my garage could not help with my dilema.
My wife runs a 1993 E34 525i Sport in the UK. We have had the car for 4 years and up until now it has been perfect. However, today my mechanic has the car on the lift and shows me that the two front tyres are heavily worn on the inside and both need replacing. He has checked the tracking, and says it is fine. The problem is that the tyres have only covered 3000 miles!!!! I don't want to buy new ones and find the same problem again. The Nearside Front is bald on the inner third and the Offside Front is bald on the inner quarter. The car has done 161K miles and is factory standard. It runs origional Cross-Spoke Alloy and the tyres are 225/60/15. He phoned another garage and both were stuck for a reason. The current tyres are Uniroyal Rain Tyres and are Rotational (And yes, the rotation is correct) The car is not safe to drive untill new tyres are fitted, but I need an answer before I spend more money on tyres. Help would be gratefully received.
