With the alarm removed, the remote on your key won't work. The alarm unit is what controls all of the remote functions.

Buy a cheap aftermarket alarm on ebay and install it in your car. It's really easy to do since all of your wires from the factory alarm are right there - I could help you with that if you needed it, too.

That way you could have your remote lock / unlock, windows down / double lock without spending a fortune on the factory alarm.
