My passenger door lock has stopped working. It can only be locked or unlocked from the interior. I'm guessing that the door lock actuator has died.
Has anyone else had this problem before? Where should I go to get a new one? Bavauto.com has it listed as $69. That seems like a lot for a simply little motor
I'm having the same problem with my driver's side rear door in my '95 318i. My mechanic says that the problem is with the actuator, but since it is not one of the doors that can be locked from the outside, the rear actuator is cheaper. $69 sounds like a good price to me; he paid $50 for the rear actuator, which is undoubtedly simpler. FWIW...
Anyone know if there are any tricks or tips to installing an actuator? It seems like it would be pretty straight forward once you got the door panel removed.
all that i know is my passenger door wont open from the outside but will from the inside i think something broke becuase the door handle on the outside just lifts ip and doesnt catch anything to open it up! im just to lazy to take it apart and make it work again! haha
I know the feeling, I'm not looking forward to taking the door panel off...It looks like such a pain in the ass.
