I've been looking on eBay for performance chips for my 1995 325is and have found some for sometimes even under $100. I want the best, but I don't know if eBay is the way to go. Can someone give me some advice and even some links to some good BMW webpages that offer performance parts. Thanks
Well I won this item on ebay, I know for sure it's not the best, but i've been told it works. So i'm sending payment today. What do you guys think about this one? :deal
wow that much HP and for only 35.00 dollars oooooooooohh?...even the writing on chip looks photoshopped....I dunno you get what you payfor!.......try it out keep us posted.
yeah he just emailed me back stating that these chips are replicas of Dinan, schnitzer's chips....... So would you recommend me getting them? Is there a noticeable gain in HP?
Whatever it is, he prolly has a copying software that copied the original chip from to the generchip...hey if it work who cares buy it, only 35.00? checkout his feedback...look at similar products and email the peeps. Since you won you should pay him. It is a binding contract......
I emailed someone previously that bought the chip from him and this is what he said:
"I actually tried two of his "alledged" hipo Dinan chips (most likely just cheap knockoffs). After I put the first hipo chip in I thought that the it left something to be desired so I sent it back to him for replacement (which he did promptly). I really didnt notice the difference until AFTER I took his first hipo chip out and went back to the stock chip while he was sending me a knew one. That's when I really noticed the loss of power that I get with the stock chip.
In retrospect, his chips make a "noticable" difference on my bone stock (except for an aftermarket air filter) 1991 BMW 325i. Especially, from 4k to 6500 rpms. I doubt that I gained 24hp as advertised though. Dont know for sure because I haven't dynoed the car before or after the chip was added. If it didnt gain 24 hp that probably has more to do with the restrictive intake, exhaust system, and limitations of small injectors than the potentiality of the chip. I am turbochargong and increasing the size of my injectors soon so the added timing, fuel curve, and increased rev limit of the chip should help to gain the desired 100hp that I am after.
All in all, his chips are worth 50 bucks. Real Dinan chips cost $270 (his might even be authentic) and may not be any better than his, so you decide for yourself. Just dont expect to take 2 seconds off your 1/4 mile ET's with any chip.
Hope this confused you LOL "
these guys copy DINAN o turner maps and rewrite them to chips adn sell them at the prices turner and dinan would still be making a profit on. They are great deals. Def. check them out. Chips are one of the easiet upgrades with one of the best bang for your buck. note* chips on pre-96 cars only
