I have a new X5 4.8 and will be driving from North Carolina to Iowa around Christmas. Has anyone had experience with the 4.8 in snow, particularly regarding the tires? I note BMWs remarks, "not recommended for cold weather driving," and given the possibility of encountering snow along the way, would appreciate any comments. Thanks. ZZ
Hi!! If you have the original performance tires, then I recommend changing the tires to whatever you feel are the right ones. Performance tires aren't the best in cold/snow weather.
Oh and by the way, AWESOME car man. 4.8i. That's sweet.
