Mercedes Benz ML430: From 0-60 problems and 60 days of service in 4 years.

My Mercedes Benz ML430 Year 2000 (50000 miles) has had more than 60 problems, and 60 days of service in less than 4 years.

I had to return the vehicle on 20 or more occasions to Autonation/Smythe European (the dealer) for warranty repairs. Currently Mercedes Benz has indicated that they will repurchase the car within 3-4 weeks.

I have had a 3.0 and now a 4.6 and have not had to have either repaired once.

The trucks seems very well built.

I think you would be happy with BMW.

I will not own a Benz as alot of the people I know who have them have nothing but problems with them.

Whoa! I thought the list is really impressive - from the perspective of keeping track of it!

I would still get the X5 4.4i. It is probably more reliable than the ML but I reckon it is no Lexus. Also, http://www.consumerreports.org/ have some interesting info.

Before you buy, you may want to check out the following list (updated 2004/3/30) - although not as long as yours - they are posts that highlight some of the issues ... list is divided into types of problems.
