X3 -- Any Regrets ??

I am considering a purchase of a new X3 and thought to best post here in a BMW forum to hear a bit from the horses mouth. I am also consiering Infinity and Mercedes.
The principle driver is my wife who feels the X5 is too large. She is currently driving a honda CR-V and wants to move up in style.

Concerns I have is the track record for service issues. Within warranty and outside of warranty. Most important question to current owners here at this forum.

1) Would you buy another?
2) Would you recommend to others
3) Do you have any regrets on what you ordered as far as options and packages ?

I am not very well with the X3, but I have seen comparisons with the X5, from what i read... to summarize things. The X3 is not an off-road SUV it is more of a city car. Also the car is not like the X5 in matters of power either.. the car is a very nice car compared to the CR-V but i would say, unless its just for errands(SP) and you live in the city, dont get it and go for the X5... The car in the proformance tests handle poorly in off-road terrians

I test drove both of them and the x5 has more power and isn't much bigger. i didn't even notice the size difference between the two, but the power difference was diffinately noticable.

I'm around X5's and X3's all day...I like the way the X5 looks over the X3 (that is just my personal opinion) but I do notice a size difference, and the power well that's obvious if you get a 4.4 or 4.8 not so much if you compair a 3.0 X5 to a 3.0 X3.
