I have a 1998 bmw 740il. I hear a grinding sound sometimes when the car starts. And hear a tapping sound when engine is running. Other than that the car is running great and no lights on except check brake light info sometimes.
Every input is appreciated.

In future, please start your own thread. You have a different model then the original poster.

The tapping sound could be a number of issues, including a stuck lifter.

the problem looks much weird i would say rather to take your car to good servies station rather than seeking here and there for different advices......
