Hey guys, let me get straight to the point. This guy is selling a 1991 850i convertible for less than $2000. The car has 122,000 original miles, redone paint, and redone interior and he claims it is in "great" running condition. I looked up the KBB value it shows $9,850 for good condition. What do you guys think?
I called the guy and spoke to him. He gave me an actual address and a time to meet him so I don't think it's a scam. I will be going to see it but since I've never dealt with an 8-series before, I want to know what can depreciate the car's value from almost $10,000 to $2,000 with the engine and body in "great condition"?
Still sounds like a scam. As long as you can meet in person and check out the car then you should be fine. For the price i'd laso bring your mechanic along.
edit: wait a minute. Dont know how I missed this in the first place. Theres no such thing as an 850 convertible. He's mis-typed the vehicle. It's probably a 91 e30 3xx convertible. And the 8 series im pretty sure there blue book value is actually rated closer to $15,000.
edit: any reasoN i should not be moving this to the 8 series section? Il let it stay primarily because I think there is probably a typo int he add. Any pictures?

Ahhhhahahah...man. I called bmw to confirm if they made 850 convertibles, they said there's no such thing. I called the guy again, he said he had it made to a convertible in a shop in LA. I asked him to confirm the price, he said he mistyped it. He put $1,750 instead of $17,500. Thanks for the advice though!
