I know there are a bunch of posts on this already. But how do I know if I have it. I have a 1995 740iL. Help please.

Well now that i know this. What can I do? Any cheap way to fix it? Or should i just drive it till it dies on me...?

this car has 97k miles on it. wouldnt it have been destroyed by now?

Not necessarily, Some of the nikasils went well beyond 100k w/o any problems. Best thing to do is check the #s on the block and see what you have, then go from there. The link I posted should have all the info you need.
