transmission! 1995 740il - BMW Forum

i had the tranny start acting up, it wont shit until red line after 2nd or 3rd gear. it works normally in manual shift mode i have code 153 CAN 155CAN code 12 o2 sensor 203 o2 sensor control 2 i believe only code 153 and 155 to be a possible cause or result of this problem. the car has 188k the tranny failsafe prog came on but went away after i turned the car off, bmw cleared the codes but the car kept doing it please help!

^ Have you tryed taking the switch out and cleaning it out? sometimes soda and gunk can build up in there

When was the last time you serviced the box, should be 80,000miles then every 30-40,000 thereafter.

tire size was the problem, the fucked up spare tire was the wrong size, the tranny uses abs sensors and they were not working right
