starts sometimes

I have a 1995 740il that will start just fine sometimes. But other time it will not, seems as if fuel pump not working, replaced fuel pump. Still has same problem, next step is to replace fuel pump relay. Does anyone have more ideas?

that is the only symptom, when it do crank up and run it runs good.

Probably not the fuel pump then. Check your plugs and coil packs. Possibly your starter.

I replaced fuel pump relay it is starting the way it should start, now the question is how long will it continue to start before I have the same problem.

I will test drive it this week to see if the problem is fixed.

Does the issue only occur when the car is warmed up?

Once the problem occurs, how do you eventually get it to fire up?

Can you force the issue to occur?

When you need to start engine, battery, plug and coil these are work to gather for starting a car. So you need to check them and ensure they work in a proper manner.
