| 84k miles on 740, check engine light.... hmm. typical reasons: crankcase vent valve, vacuum hose leak, intake gaskets leaking, intake boots off/ not secure, catalytic converters, 02 sensor(s), leaking valve cover gaskets. Also, make sure your gas cap is tight and on correctly, can't tell you how many times that has stumped folks.
