Question about Permaplate?

Hello all.

I just got my Merlot Red Z4 the other day. I have opted to have the 3M "clear bra" put on. Now, I am wondering if I should put PermaPlate on my car also. the dealer talked it up really well (as they would), and would charge me about $599 to have it put on.

What do you guys think? Is this something that is a waste of money or will it be worth it?

I was waiting for the Nissan Roadster, but I got too impatient one day, did some more research on my other car of choice (Z4), stopped by the dealer on Saturday, and now I have the Z4...which I LOVE.

It's supposed to be like rustproofing, makes your car look freshly waxed, even when you don't wax it, protects the interior, etc. The biggest selling point was that it was low maintenance, and one would never have to wax...

However, after searching the web, it looks like people are advising against getting it, since to maintain the warranty of the protection, you have to polish it with their approved materials and kit,a nd definitely not worth the money.

So I guess, I won't be getting it.
