Please Help!! X5 Door Lock

so yeah... with thanksgiving a mere two hours away, and no other vehicle to get the fifty miles to my mother's house, i tried to unlock the door to my 2001 x5 and the key wouldn't work. when i turned the key to the left (unlock) it didn't feel like anything was getting "hit" and when i turned it to the right (lock) it stops about half way as far as it should turn. i have no idea what to do and am desperate for help. if anyone knows anything about this or has any suggestions please help!!

It is the sign of lock struck which mean there is some thing in lock hole. You have to contact lock smith if have no expertise in lock mechanism. Basically dust is the main reason for lock jammed or struck.
