phatbox for 740

hey everybody i recently purchased a phatbox music player off ebay that takes the place of the cd changer and plays music off a hard drive.

the problem i have is that the system didnt come with the dsp converter. if anyone has one of these or knows a generic part that will work with this i would appriciate the help or would buy there old part.

the dsp converter changes the analog signal to dsp and runs from the phatbox to the dsp amplifier. the model of my vehicle is a 2001 740i.

if anyone is interested in one of these i think i got it figured out using some parts i found online and the whole install including the phatbox itself is around 200 getting the phatbox from ebay.

i got some ideas to use different parts that were not oem phatnoise parts and found these items

Mini SPDIF+OPTICAL DAC Board --PCM1793+DIR9001+OPA2134 - eBay (item 300302824355 end time Feb-16-10 19:30:35 PST)

SB9SBJ-174-5: Coaxial Cable, SMB 90 degree (right angle) plug (female contact) to SMB jack (male contact), RG174, 5 foot, 50 ohm (MINI Cooper Sirius/XM satellite antenna extension)

i found out from the denison ice link disscussion you can either wire the power for the dac straight to the battery or run it to the harness with the dsp amp. im i have all the parts ordered and im going to try to install this myself. ill let you know how this goes and if i can get the voice activated controls to work.
