Has anyone had problems with Parking Distance Control? Mine started giving me the message that I needed to take it to the BMW Dealer today. I made sure the sensors on the bumper were clean but no change. 2006 750Li
No one bumped it and it seemed to work in reverse and intermittently in drive. I ran the check with I Drive and it said everything worked a couple of times and then seemed to go back to the error message the rest of the time. It said no audio alarm in PDC.
You were correct I took it to the BMW service center and one sensor was shorted out. Cost me my $250 deductable under extended warranty. BMW charged $200 just to diagnose the problem. I was talking to a woman in the waiting room that had a 5 series and they told her that it was $110 an hour shop rate to diagnose. Seems like the dealer charges more for being the owner of a 7 series. It only took like 15 Minutes to diagnose but I got a car wash for my $200. It sure is expensive to drive a BMW but I guess my life may be extended from the big smile I have on my face while zipping down the road.
Thats good news then.....BMW charges are high hence why most of us fix our own and have diagnostics gear, at least you wont hit anything now!!, here in the UK £120 an hour.
