My 633csi is in the shop with a bad clutch. My mechanic says I need an extension housing and the part has been discontinued. ghead Does anyone know where I can find one?? He said some OEM manufacturers make sleeves that do the same job, but he doesn't know where to get one for this car. Any suggestions would be most appreciated!
There are a few places "online" that sell mainly OEM parts.... It might help to do a few searches on google.com
This is some of the sites I found... keep in mind that they will probably not list that part on the internet... you will have to call and see if they can order it for you.
There seems to be pleanty of places that seel the extension housing... just search google.com for 633sci extension housing.. and you will find most of them... GOOD LUCK!
Thanks for the links! I didn't see the extension housing on there, but I will give them a call. I had found that link earlier through Google, but it went to the extension housing seal, which I would think is a different part. With this model well into it's 20's, you'd think more people would have had to replace this part (since it naturally wears down with time). I can't believe no one makes a replacement or the sleeve.
Perhaps I'm not even looking for the right part...I'm fairly sure that it is called the "extension housing" (part #1 in the diagram) and that the "extension housing seal" is behind it (part #2)...right?
Most of these guys that deal with OEM parts are fairly knowledgable in the parts....
I know Bimmerparts.com is... So.. maybe they could help you find the exact name and or part number for it. Did you look and see if you could find a part number on the housing?...
