MID issue... No Clock or BC function! NEED HELP!

So I have searched the web trying to find answers to this issue and I have found other people that have the issue but they never reply with a response with what exactly fixed their problem...

So here is the issue.... Ever since I purchased my 99 740iL in Nov 09 the MID has displayed nothing where the clock is displayed. When you push the clock button nothing happens. When you push the BC button then the whole lower half of the MID goes black. Once I push the Audio button again do the pixels and lights return on the lower half. When I push the BC button on my steering column I am able to scroll through all the different functions on my main cluster display which only the "AVG MPG" and "Distance til empty" are able to be used because I can not program any of the other functions through my MID which blacks out when I try that function.

Has anybody run into this that has figured out the exact cause and solution?

Maybe it's just easier to find a replacement unit.

Your comment makes no sense... you obviously have no idea what your talking about. Maybe I should just find a replacement car, that would fix my problem!

But seriously the MID is just a monitor and controller for the OBC and radio so therefore replacing the MID will do nothing to fix the problem...

I was thinking of the entire component set from another car like in a breaker yard.
