Major loss of power...... - BMW Forum

I bought my 735i for 500? from a friend but one of the cylenders isnt running fully.I changed the spargplugs and the airfilter and a few days later my check engine light came on and now i dont have as much poswer. Any suggestions would be helpfull.Thanks in advance for n e comments

Boy thats not much info to go off of... 1st, does the car/engine have high mileage? 2nd- Could be the distributor cap as I hear they are a problem a lot of the time, 3rd- Possibly loss of compression in some or all of the cylinders... Do an easy compression test to eliminate this theory... 4-could really be a number of things, from anything as easy as spark plug wires to bad piston rings or a headgasket....

im guessing it has something to do with either the O2 sensor or maybe your mass air flow,

Thanks for the comments, yes I allready have did a pressure check and its only 1 of the cylinders.And the car has 209,000 miles on it. Im looking into replacing the oxygen sensor. Dose anyone know what kinda clutch my car would have, twin mass fly wheel or not??????
