Well the Lexus may have more cargo space, but the BMW is definetly cooler.. It just depends on what your needs are. Personally if you don't care either way I'd go BMW :wink

My sh*t is not disco. Thank You.
Uh, if its between the 3.0 and the 4.7, the V8 is kind of a no brainer. The GX470 for the V8 would be my pick. Buth then, I wouldnt get the 3.0 X5, id get the 4.4i or a used 4.6is.

I was looking at the Lexus as well, but the Lexus does not have satillite radio and I was going to have to wait and pay pretty much sticker for the Lexus. I would consider the 4.4 motor however I bought the 3.0 and it has enough power for what I use it for.
Not to be coy, but granted, this is a BMW site and I rather think you are going to get answers which favor, guess which. I have an X5, 4.8, which I consider second to none. I also have a 545i. Of all the cars that I have owned, I have never driven a car as good as a BMW. My recommendation is the X5, hands down. Hope this helps you. ZZ
Well I use to have a 330ci and moved to a 04 Lexus GX470. Very nice rig. I did have some problems with the Drive Line. I just traded it in for a X5 4.4. There is no comparison. I am so happy to be back in a BMW. Even if you stay with the 3.0 I would get the X5!!!
Well...if you aren't ready to handle the supreme power of the 4.4 or 4.8 I wouldn't advise getting one. They are indeed powerful and can accumulate speeding tickets....so I'd be careful. But, you can't deny BMWs 4 year bumper to bumper warranty...so Lexus can just wait for another opportunity...whenever that comes around. Plus, I'm not a square/box type of person...I mean the GX470s are really boxy. The BMWs are more sporty and luxurous.
