Heater fans/blowers on?? - BMW Forum

What makes my demist/heater fans keep running,even when turned off,on my 1988 735i E32. HELP?????

Possibly a faulty relay, maybe a bad ground.

Maybe there's an issue with the key switch that doesn't cut power to accessories as it should.

Are there any other acessories working as well?
If you pull the relay do they keep running?

No other accessories on! It stops the fans when the relay is lifted??

Is there a pattern to when this happens, like if the car is really hot, or if you have been using the Air Con, or is it just the battery is connected the fan is on? Does it ever turn off, or will it run until your battery is flat?

No, I can just turn on the ignition {in the garage] and the heater on off, and the fans run,very odd, it has just started doing it???

Possibly one of the control modules is faulty if this is only happening with the ignition on. Try disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes and then reconnect. Make sure that you have any codes that might be asked for when the power is reconnected.

Disconnected the battery for 20 mins. But NO fans still running with heater OFF and key on. The mystery remaims..........??

I guess you need to find out what module controls the blower and look around the web for a changeover unit that might resolve this issue. I don't have much other advice to offer you.
