Unhappy Engine stalling

Hi

I have a BMW E38 730d 2000 mod with the e57 engine. (diesel)
Lately i have been having problems with the engine stalling when i hit the accellerator "hard"... It just stops, i get no prewarning of any kind - fouling or otherwise.

A couple of days ago i had the inline dieselpump changed (nr 2 under the drivers seat) just because the car stopped and wouldn't start again.

But the problem with the engine stopping didn't disappear...

If i increase the rew slowly from idle, the engine doesn't stop, but when i put the pedal to the metal - hard... the engine stops....

Has anyone encountered the same kind of problem, or heard of it ?

I have also changed the diesel filter and the air intake filter
