e32 power steering questions

Hi All,

I've got an '89 735iL and I'm having some problems with the power steering. First off, how do I determine if I've got the self-leveling option in the back?? Second, I've got a leak back there that appears to be coming from the strut. Replacing the struts looks like a job I'd rather do in the spring when the weather goes back above freezing!! In the meantime, I need to keep it full of fluid but the Pentosin is really expensive. Considering I need one can of Pentosin every two weeks, what cheaper alternative can I dump in there until spring? Is Valvoline Ultramax 32 ok?

Sounds like you do have S/Level and 1 of your rear pipes is leaking that goes to the strut, valvoline will be fine as you will have to change the lot when you fix the leak anyway.

Hello marti5, hows it going? It's pretty warm here in South Africa. I see you have had a lot of snow. My next job is the cracked windscreen and sagging roof lining. Otherwise the car runs like a sewing machine. It goes over 200 km/hr easily. Not bad for a 19 yr old car.

How you doing, yea we've had around 100mm, its around -2 at the moment so not to bad, good to hear your keeping a 7 series alive and running well.
