e32 different hood and masks

I was wondering why are hood and mask different on some e32?

You see left one and right two
left has smaller mask and lines on hood...why??is that depending on age or??

Garage
didn't all models get the wide grill after the face lift, just like on the e34?

the v8's and v12's had wider kidneys than the l6 engines for better cooling (i've read somewhere)

exactly right guys the v8 and the v12 have larger inductions which call for more grill space in order to not clutter things up with the front electric fan. I have 3 of the 6cylinder models and they have small grills
