Dead Battery = Locked out! Need help - BMW Forum

my 95 740iL has a dead battery-- I cannot remotely unlock it. Further, the key doesn't manually unlock the door or trunk (electric I'm assuming). And my neighbor/mechanics attempts with a slimjim, even though manipulating the door latch enough to move the lock-nob upright, were unsuccessful, as well as going thru the window/door gap just above the door handle. It seems like without power, I am stuck as I'm not able to open the doors/hood/trunk. Any recommendations would be helpful.

And here I was, feeling good seeing the email notification that someone replied to my question... tell me there are better options than
ROCK + Window....

Maybe the keyfob battery is toast.?.... Does any one know if the key manually unlocks any of the locks?

The trunk should open via key and allow you to get to the battery, turn it all the way one way the back to unlock and push the button in with the key still in the lock. If that doesnt work turn it all the way to unlock and push in.

Hmmmmn,
The 1988 735I could be opened on the passenger side by lifting up the door handle and simultaneously turning the key clockwise. Try it.
