Check Brake Lights warning on dash?

Hi, 1st post for me relating to my 728i...........

My brake lights are working fine but I'm still getting the warning message on the dash. Is this anything I need to worry about?

No worries....common fault on the E38, best way to do it is remove the cluster, remove all the bulb holders, clean all the metal where the holders fit in with sand paper and bend the two tabs on holders themselves down a bit towards where the bulb fits in, when you put the cluster back (bulbs and holders pre fitted for ease)smear some silicone grease around the rubber seal, not building silicone must be grease, normally available from plumbers merchants....

He has a message about the brake lights, not linings. Reading before posting helps.

Yes Torque...as you may know or may not, on the e38 you get a 'bong' and a message on the cluster "Check Brake Lights", maybe Jimmy doesn't know about the 7 series...and thought its was the low lining warning light.
