Hello there. I'm a new member and this is my first post. I've got a loose front bumper on my 740iL. I don't have access to a lift right now. Is it possible that this is due to a broken bolt or should I be looking for something else?
I don't have a picture, but the front bumper on the passenger side has separated from the body of the car by about 1-2 inches - it shows up on the side of the car. It looks like the bumper has been pulled slightly forward on that side of the car.
What year is your 740il, because some models have plastic brackets on the inside of the bumper cover, that either crack or slip apart & separate from the side of the bumper, as in piece #12 illustrated in the link below....causing the side of the bumper to sag & have a gap.....
johnny,
Thanks for the reply. Actually, it's a '97 740iL like the one in your picture, except it's a dark green. If I try to replace it myself, what's the damage likely to be for a new bracket?
