Bmw 730i Transmisson Problem

Have owned a 93 for about 5 months and now the trans. is slipping. Would a filter change help this problem and can I do this. I have never been under a BMW but, have been under plenty of American cars. Can't be much difference. Have been living in Stuttgart Germany for 6 months now and car is German model. Can I do this or do I have to take to shop. Thanks for the help. Owners manual in Deutsch and I can not read. Real help needed. Love the car though. It moves.

sure you can change the oil and filter on the tranny just don t over fill it. It might be slipping becuase of the cold weather usually you need to warm it up before you drive it fast. Wait for the temp guage goes to the middle. and depends on when it had the last change.

Today I found out that my 730i is a 94.
I am having a hard time with this because its all in German.
I have some questions.

My registration says it's a 400 ltrs w/cat3. Please explain.

My VIN is WBAGD21030DD45805 if anyone can get the information from that it would be great

Do I have a 730i Achtzylinder or a 730i Sechazylinder.

Some where I saw that transmission fluid is for life.
Whats that all about.

Well. Germany is great. Will enjoy living here for the next eight years. I got to go under the car to do a oil change. At the base where we are at has a full auto repair shot for do-it-yourselfers. I got to get a good look under the car. No rust and everything looks real good. Cat's look brand new. I guess before we got the car the owner had them replaced. Kim my wife bought it. It is cherry. I was not here for the purchase, the wife got here before me and I came about three months later. She did good. I did notice one problem which may be why my tranny is slipping. It is quite wet around the bell housing you know, where the tranny meets the fly wheel. Any thoughts out there what might be the problem. Seals, etc.

On another note. What type upgrades for proformance can I add or be done to the 730i.

I did find out it has the hugh V8 in it for that year.

New to owning a BMW and loving it.
