BMW 7 AC Problems... HELP!!!! Hey all, I am new to this forum. I am the proud owner of a 1998 BMW 740il. It has been in my family since new… We have loved it and cared for it always!!!
Recently, I have been experiencing some problems with the AC system. When I am sitting at a traffic light the and the AC is on, the air coming out of the vents is as if the heater is on full blast. The problem disappears when I accelerate. Once I an going about 50 Km/H or about 30 MPH the air begins to cool down. At about 130 Km/H or about 80ish MPH the air blows at about ˝ of what it should be doing.
When I turn off the car with the AC on, there are a number of weird sounds from the engine compartment that make me uneasy.
The problem started a couple of days ago on a hot 30+ degrees Celsius day… about 90 degrees F I think.
(Sorry about the conversion, I am Canadian….)
Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be? I just had the car serviced at a dealership here in Denver. The fan on the front of the engine exploded, and the dealership had to repair a good amount of the parts in the front end… Some hoses, thermostat on the radiator, and air filter up front.
Could the dealerships repairs have lead to the problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!!!
