u3b3rg33k is an unknown quantity at this point
I recently aquired a 1968 1600-2 (1600-2/2002A on the plate under the hood) and it is currently having a rebuilt transmission swapped in to replace the OEM tranny with the horrid porche synchros. unfortunately, the car is missing most of the rear wheel wells, and the bottom edge is composed of about 90% rust. should I have it restored, or should i try to find a new unibody? (btw, it has the round tail lights)

kenjh is on a distinguished road
rust is never ending ,if this is not a collector or special to you in someway ..find a good body you will never recover from rust repair..if you can do the repair you already know how invasive rust is ,if you are not a bodyman ,get acouple of shops to show and tell you what you are up against. trust me unless you have deep pockets and a desire to support a restoration shop for thousands of dollars ,,look for a good rust free body you will be happier and far ahead sanity and money wise
