bluetooth - how to delete a phonebook entry?

Just started enjoying benefits of bluetooth in 05 X5 - never seemed to get the telephone manual the owner's manual refers to - it seems new phonebook entries update with each turn of the key - but old (and in my case incorrect) entries do not get removed from the vehicle's memory even after being deleted from the mobile phone
Does anyone know how to delete a single phonebook entry from the vehicle's memory?

when u delete it from your phone does it not delete it from the car also?

i dont know much about it but i was wondering if uve done that

No, when I add to phone it adds to vehicle, but when I delete from phone it stays on vehicle. So I need to know how to delete one entry or probably how to delete entire vehicle data for that phone and start over. I don't know how to do either....

might not get much help either most of the guys around here drive older models and dont have bluetooth

It takes a couple pairings before the phonebook actually deletes the entry...I think mine took 3-4 pairings before it dropped a number I had deleted a while ago. Give it some time, eventually it will scan your phonebook again and realize the entry is gone.
