On my 1992 bmw 750il i took up the back seats to check the battery and change the fuses, now i cant get either 1 back in place, i got the posts on the back of the seats in but i cant get it the rest of the way in, i have someone buying the car and i really need to fix them.
Can be a real PITA, I had this issue on my'88 750 and it just was a matter of patience and slowly working the posts that go up into the seats backs in place, keep trying, wiggle and jiggle those seat cushions.
you need to fit in the rear part first, then the sides. the post comes last at it provides the lock for the seat. If you start at the posts you'll never get it in.
