Hi, my rear view mirror droops and I can't adjust it. (It's really tough to describe this problem without setting myself up for a bunch of sexual innuendo jokes...) Anyway, I took the mirror down and upon examination of the ball-joint, I found the plastic piece that holds the ball in place has two broken sleeves. This results in the compression ring not having anything to compress. My question: Is there any place that sells just the plastic ring for the ball-joint? I hate to have to buy a whole mirror if I could just replace this one part.
In the photo, you can see the broken collars. The tops have snapped off and the locking ring has nothing to hold it down. Also, What's the connector circled in yellow used for?
