Okay, so my girlfriend REALLY wants a Mini Cooper, although she will not submit to my charms and purchase a J Cooper Works Edition Mini (darn).
So she's looking at the base model (

Anyways, I was wondering, are there any common problems with the 2005 base Mini Cooper that she should be aware of? I.e. what are things to look for, what to expect, any quirky things... she doesn't drive stick, so it'll be an automatic. What's the cost of ownership, annually, not including warranty (I think she would keep this car)?
