WOW i think that beats the E30 V12. they say that you can pretty much put that V12 in anything that had a 6cyl or a V8. but in a ti that had a 4 banger! hmm i would think that would be an interesting can to drive. although don't those V12 only have like 300 HP. which wuold be a lot for a little car like that but i guess it just looks more impresive than the HP sound.
i didnt know //m ever made a v12 engine? whats up with that the biggest theve ever made is the new v10. and what did that m v12 come out of? there was never an m7 or an m8.

It's the 5.6L V12 from the 850CSi, which BMW Motorsport regards as an M car. There actually was an M8, too - BMW tested a prototype with different bodywork and a 6.0L V12, a version of which would go into the legendary McLaren F1. BMW decided that a supercar version of the 8-series just wouldn't sell and scrapped the idea, and the prototype is scheduled to be destroyed.

I find stuff here and there on the Internet and in books, I'm fascinated by cars that never came to fruition, especially the M8. Other plans BMW never followed through with:
- a two-door M5 cabriolet during the late 80s (don't know why it wasn't put into production, maybe no market?)
- a full production run of an M3 compact/M3ti (reasoned as not cost-effective)
- the Nazca M12/M20 BMW-engined supercar (they just didn't want to do it, BMW upper management adamantly refused). This is the M12, the M20 is slightly different:
- an earlier M roadster during the late 80s/early 90s (it was HIDEOUS, no?)
