633csi is an unknown quantity at this point
I have an 83 633csi and im having trouble with the alternator. when the key is in the accesories postion the battery light does not light up, when driving it sometimes beggins to flicker when at high rpm's. Also when i check the battery there is no change in voltage. i have already checked the quality of ground and the blue wire, those are good. i changed the bulb on the dash, still had the same results. I gave the alternator 12 volts and the ligh still does not light up. I chaged the alternator with a spare from another a 733i... nothing, i interchanged the brushes and the voltage regulator... nothing. At this point im open to anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

have the alternators tested and a parts store. its usually free. maybe both of them r bad. the battery light happened to me right before my alternator and battery both killed eachother. it sounds like an alt prob to me.

before & when/if u change ur alt. TEST THE BATTERY AGAIN!!!!! if its not perfect it will kill the new alt. oh and only use BOSCH.
