Unhappy 94 740i V8 MISSING..

hi im a brand new bmw owner as of today i bought a fixer upper....the 4.0 v8 in this 94 740i is missing and is very very slugish and also dies when sitting and in drive can anyone help me on this....also has a leaky water pump can anyone give me any idea how long it will take to change i am ver mechanicaly able to fix it jw how long thanks in advance .........

p.s i love beamers now

Water pump isnt bad if you know what youre doing.. 1-2 hours taking your time.

Missing idle and sluggishness and long crank times are indications of poor compression/bad nikasil engines. Google nikasil m60 engines. Lots of info.

ok now i know.....but it starts just fine its just missing...could it b a fouled plug?

I would say it maybe the oil around the rear plugs due to rocker cover gaskets leaking, commom fault as the engine leans back.
