I just purchase my 93 740i with 111000 miles on it. In looking at past records the wipers were only working on fast speed at 104000 miles. The shop replace the motor without success, so they replace the "General Control Module", which seemed to fix the problem. Now I am having a similar problem. When they work on intermittent, they stop are various locations. After awhile they quit working on intermittent and the slower speed and will only work on fast. Some times the single wipe works but it rarely corrects in the down position. The only way to park the wipers is to run in on high and time when you shut them off. Is there also a relay in the relay box under the hood that would affect this?

it can only be the general module or the wiper switch assembly itself that is at fault. there is a relay under the hood but given the problems you have, the relay is not at fault.
