Is 740il T-STAT Electronic?

My car is overheating!

I tested my old t-stat by holding it in boiling water and only the slightest amount of water came through it...so I bought a new T-STAT and installed it.
The car is still overheating.

I have done the same test with the new T-STAT and it is doing the same thing...only a little water come in. The water pump has the metal impellars and seems fine.

Is this an electronic T-STAT? Should it open full when held in boiling water?
When I get it back togehter I am going to test the fan as has been recommended here. Any other ideas?

Your car has electronic thermostat control.

You could have a problem with the fan clutch or a plugged radiator. When was the radiator last changed?

I don't know when the radiator was changed. I just got the car a few days ago!

The radiator is not leaking...what could I do to test or clean it?
I guess it could be clogged up?

Could you point me in the right direction as far as the fan...is there away I could test it?
