My 1993 740 iL has been sitting in my garage for 5 months and the battery died, now the doorlocks won't open and the only thing i can open is the trunk, how do i get in to the car or atleast charge the battery. I never actually found the battery in the car. ghead
Try going to passenger door, lifting the door handle and at the same time turning the key in the lock clockwise as far as it will go. I have head applying external power to the license plate light electrical connector also works but I have not tried this . The battery is under the rear seat cushion, passenger side and unless it is a il with power rear seats, all you need to do is get at lower middle of the seat cushion and yank upwards hard. If you need a battery, auto zone or advance sell them, pefect fit (I have one in my 1988 750 from advance) and they are inexpensive.
