740 seat popping

I have a 99 740iL where the drivers seat constantly makes a popping noise as i shift my weight into turns. This problem arose during the warranty period but they (dealer) always came up with a fix that never fixed the problem. I have a buddy with a 2000 model that does the same thing. I have to believe BMW knows of this problem but hides it until the warranty expires. Has anyone experienced this or know of a maintenence bulletin put out on it. Or, does anyone know how to fix this problem.

Had the same problem in my 2001. Every turn the seat clicked, drove me insane! The problem turned out to be a cracked seat frame and it was in the shop for a week and a half as they had to get the part from europe; apparently not an item stocked anywhere in the states. But it fixed the problem.
