The problem is almost certainly the heater control valve. This is on the fire wall on the drivers side. It is underneath a plastic cover. It is fairly easy to replace (I replaced it on my wife's 735). The part costs about $100 +/-. Takes about an hour for a relative novice. The heater control valve has spring operated rubber diaphrams that eventually fail allowing the hot water from the engine to continously circulate through the heater.
